After the unfortunate disbanding of the long term DotA Team LGD earlier in the week, we were unsure of their participation in the DotA 2 Championship at gamescom 2011.
They were reached out to earlier in the day and it has been confirmed that Team LGD will not be making it to the competition. Instead their slot will be taken up by Team Virus from France.
“We reached out to LGD this morning to see if they would still be able to field a team at The International in 9 days. Given that a visa from China to Germany is measured in weeks and not days, they informed us that they cannot make it” said IceFrog, developer of DotA.
“Virus, from France, has accepted our invitation to attend” he added.
