It has been pretty obvious but official confirmation has been made earlier today by IceFrog, developer of DotA.

DotA 2 tournament “The International” at gamescom 2011 will be streamed live on http://www.dota2.com/ in four different languages like promised.

“The tournament will be streamed live at dota2.com in 4 languages” confirmed IceFrog.

The shoutcasters have not been formally announced but it is not that hard to guess.

  • English: TobiWanKenobi
  • Russian: v1lat
  • Chinese: DC
  • German: NiceTry and Saga

And for all the fans who have been questioning as to why the French team Virus replaced LGD in the tournament and not some other, it is because French natives do not need a visa to enter Germany and at such short notice it was a much viable option to go for.

“Russia requires a Visa, France does not,” was IceFrog’s response to a question posed by a fan.

gamescom 2011 will kick off on August 17, 2011 at Cologne, Germany. Stay tuned with us as sixteen of the finest teams in the world battle it out for $1 million.
